Pineapple Autoflower Strain History
Pineapple Autoflower is sativa dominant hybrid that goes from seed to harvest in 12-13 weeks. Ed Rosenthal’s Super Bud is the backbone of the original Pineapple strain. An auto-flowering ruderalis bred with Pineapple resulted in the creation of Pineapple Autoflower. The best qualities of the original Pineapple remain unchanged. Ruderalis was included to speed up the total production time of the plants.
Appearance
Pineapple’s buds are rather large for such a fast plant. Internodal spacing is tight, and the flowers tend to join together into one large cola. The flowers are fluffy, bright green, and have a range of yellow, orange, and amber colored pistils.
Aroma
Pineapple Autoflower cannabis smells incredible, blending tropical fruit flavors with an evergreen and gassy rocket fuel explosion. The aroma is sweet, floral and spicy. Like a combination of mango, lime, lavender, and black pepper. A strong sweet and sour aftertaste brings to mind the flavors of a pineapple margarita.
Terpenes
The most dominant terpenes in Pineapple Auto are pinene, myrcene, limonene, caryophyllene, and linalool. Although these terps are extremely common in most cannabis varieties, the exact quantities vary from strain to strain and produce varying results with every individual plant.
Cannabinoids
Pineapple Autoflower has a THC level of 17–20%. With a CBD content of <1%. The high comes on fast and leans heavily towards the sativa end of the spectrum. Pineapple can be helpful to alleviate depression, as well as relieve chronic aches and pain. This strain is also very useful in calming an upset stomach or nausea.
Auto Pineapple Effects
Pineapple Auto appeals to recreational and medical users alike. The high comes on fast but is not overpowering or uncomfortable. Instead, a warming, motivated and joyful buzz begins in the brain then gradually rolls down into the body. PA is an appropriate daytime strain and suitable for social or evening use.
Growing Pineapple OG Autoflower
Pineapple Autoflower seeds should be stored and germinated just like all other cannabis seeds. However, after germinating, auto seeds should be planted directly into the final pots that they will be flowered in. This helps to establish a strong root zone before beginning flowering. An 18/6 hour light cycle is ideal during the propagation stage. Pineapple Auto seeds start flowering once they become mature regardless of the photoperiod.
Autoflowering strains are perfect for novice growers or those looking to harvest their flower in less time than conventional photoperiod-induced flowering strains. With proper planning, two or three outdoor crops can be grown perpetually in one season using these Pineapple Autoflower cannabis seeds. Likewise, more consecutive crops can be grown indoors in much less time than traditional cultivars.
Despite their quickness, Pineapple Auto seeds are more than capable of producing great yielding plants. Buds grow in large colas, even on the lower branches. Topping can help to balance the shape and improve yields. It’s best to top/prune the plants in the vegetative stage before they start crowning and making flowers. For optimal results, top the plant when it becomes as tall as it is wide. Trellising will help support the weight of the branches and open the structure to allow more light and better airflow during flowering.
Once they start to flower, minimal pruning is required. In almost no time, you’ll be chopping down these lovely ladies. The average indoor yield is 16-19oz/m2, and the outdoor yield ranges from 2-7oz/plant.
